The Walkbout Rivers and Adventure Tour allows you the opportunity to experience the many rivers and streams found on the island of Jamaica. At each of the over 16 rivers you and your group will spend a day or a few hours by a river, either relaxing, sitting on the river bank or nearby rocks, fishing or just immersing yourself in the cool waters, allowing the water to flow over you. Each stop is unpredictable and will definitely be memorable as you enjoy scenic waterfalls, splashing rapids and picturesque river pools. Outdoor Activities - Jamaica: The Ultimate Walkbout Bicycle Tour Of Jamaica

The Ultimate Walkbout Bicycle Tour Of Jamaica We can only tell you when and where we start from and end. What happens in between is pure impulse and adventure for 7 or 14 days depending on your desired time frame and experience. The more time you spend on the tour the greater the local experience. This is the route we will take, how much time we spend in each location is dependent on what is happening and what the group wants: Montego Bay - Falmouth - Ocho Rios - Kingston - Mandeville - Savanna La Mar – Negril – Montego Bay   Guest must be at least 18 or older, in good fitness condition, no back problem, not pregnant and can ride a push bike without assistance.   Accommodations Depending on the location and time of arrival this will vary from The Walkbout Homestay Experience to a Small to Medium Size Accommodation. Gastronomy - Jamaica: Walkbout South Coast Rum, Water and Food Experience - 2-day option from Montego Bay

The Experience   The experience begins early at 8:00am sharp as the distance from Montego Bay to The Town of Black River is long and adventurous. The landscape along the South Coast is beautiful, so we want you to enjoy it without having to rush.   Our first stop will be a brief pass through of The Town of Black River, on our way The Black River Safari Experience, where we will be setting sail aboard a pontoon boat for an hour-long cruise along the river, and look out for wildlife such as crocodiles, eagles, and egrets as you cruise downstream.   Our second stop will be The Appleton Estate which has been blending rums since 1749. The Appleton Estate Rum Tour offers unique insights into a part of Jamaica's history and rich complex culture. The estate is home to the legendary Appleton Distillery, Located in the picturesque Nassau Valley in St. Elizabeth, on Jamaica's South Coast. During this rum tour you will experience firsthand, the historic production process of Appleton Estates' Rums. You will be able to see and experience some of the earliest methods of extracting juice from sugarcane, learn about the unique distillation process in 200-year-old pot stills and visit one of the barrel houses where the rums age to perfection. After the rum tour, you will begin to understand why Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum is the finest in the world.   Our final stop for the day is a late lunch  of a Sumptuous Jamaican Meal & Beverages.   After this full day of experiences, we will head on to Mandeville for our overnight stay.   The next day’s experience begins early at 8:00am with a full Jamaican Breakfast Your host and other guests will meet to discuss the plans for the day and clarify any specials needs and request.   Our third stop is a morning tour of The Town of Mandeville, as we take the time to appreciate the delightful examples of Jamaican architecture, a blend of classic Georgian style created with local materials. Of particular interest is the Mandeville Court House, built in 1820 with limestone blocks cut by slave labour. The courthouse, one of only four original public buildings, has a portico supported by Doric columns flanked by a curving double staircase. We will also see also the Manchester Parish Church, the Mandeville Jail and Workhouse (now the Police Station).   Our fourth stop is YS Falls, which is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Jamaica, set in a pristine environment on the un-spoilt South Coast of Jamaica.   YS Falls offers a 120-foot (36-meter) cascading waterfall, amid 2,000 acres of pasture, located on a privately owned estate, owned by the same family for over a century and where thoroughbred race horses and purebred Jamaica Red cattle are reared. The falls are unspoiled and kept in a natural environment where the only modifications made are the footpaths along the falls and natural swimming pool. Enjoy walking through and swimming in the falls while local guides help take pictures for great memories.  Attractions include: Canopy rides, River tubing, Zip lining, Playground and many more   Our final stop is a late lunch for a Sumptuous Jamaican Meal & Beverages.   After this full day of experiences, we will have a relaxing drive back to Montego Bay. Once there, we will take the hour hike down to the sea, where we will be picked up on a boat and brought to Jakes.   Our final stop is a late lunch for a Sumptuous Jamaican Meal & Beverages.   After this full day of experiences, we will have a relaxing drive back to Kingston. Safari and Wildlife - Jamaica: Walkbout Black River Safari & YS Falls Experience

From your hotel guests will travel with their tour guide into the Parish of St. Elizabeth, to experience a trip on the Black River (Black River because of the dark colour the water reflects caused by thick layers of decomposing vegetation on the river bed). The experience here also includes enjoying the birds on the river and the crocodiles. After lunch the group travels to the YS Falls. Here the group travels by jitney to the falls from the office (parking area). There are 7 waterfalls, some cascade into natural pools. Lifeguards will indicate which areas are suitable for swimming. After a full day of fun it is time to return to Kingston.

This tour takes our guests from their hotel in Kingston to Downtown. We will share with our guests some samplings of Jamaican food, fruits & drinks. As we travel we will stop to tour some sites on our way – including the Simon Bolivar Cultural Centre (a multi-puropse centre for the performing and visual arts, which pays tribute to the Venezuelan Liberator & National Hero, who resided in Jamaica in the 1800’s), and the National Art Gallery. Outdoor Activities - Jamaica: Walking Tour 2: Downtown Kingston

Guests will travel with tour guide by bus to Downtown Kingston. Tour of the Liberty Hall (Museum of Marcus Garvey), walk to the Ward Theatre ( built in 1912 & presented to the city as a gift by Colonel Charles Ward), we continue around the Park on foot to the Coke Methodist Church for a tour of this heritage site (named after Dr. Thomas Coke, founder of the Methodist mission in the West Indies). Our walk continues inside the St. William Grant Park (named in honour of William Grant a labour activist & dock-worker), our next stop will be across the road at the Kingston Parish Church which has been in existence since the mid 1690’s. We travel by bus to the Swiss Store for lunch (Jewelery store with a restaurant with art on display). We travel by bus to the Kingston waterfront to relax and/or do some shopping at the Craft Market. Culture & History - Jamaica:The Walkbout St. Andrew Church Tour #2

Our Walkbout Tour Guide will meet guests at their hotel in Kingston, and travel to the University of the West Indies, to do a tour of the campus (former sugar plantation), visit the sports’ field where a number of our well known athletes do their training and the Chapel. The next tour site will be the St. Andrew Parish Church, built in the 1600’s and is still in use. The monuments in the church and the tombs in the cemetary give the visitor a concise history of early Jamaica. From here we travel to Spanish Town, the former capital of Jamaica. The stories and monuments will tell about Jamaica under Spanish rule – The abolition of slavery, the freedon-fighters and the activities of the early church. A visit the the Anglican Cathedral, (the oldest Cathedral outside of Britain) will give you an opportunity to see some great work of early artists.
